Waste and solid waste management are among the critical challenges facing Thai society and the global community today, particularly within higher education institutions, which accommodate large populations and continuously consume resources. Without an efficient management system, these institutions are at risk of causing negative impacts on the environment, public health, and the overall quality of life on campus.
At the same time, universities serve as strategic spaces for developing knowledge, skills, and mindsets among younger generations who will become leaders of social change. Driving the concept of a “Zero Waste University” is therefore an important approach to creating a model society that uses resources efficiently, reduces waste generation, and advances toward a sustainable circular economy.
To support knowledge creation, exchange of experiences, and the dissemination of best practices among academic institutions, as well as to strengthen collaborative networks on integrated waste management, the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the Center for Waste Management, and partner universities are organizing the EEAT Webinar Series No. 9/2025 on the topic “Zero Waste University”, on 21 November 2025, 14.45–16.30 hrs. (GMT+7; Indochina Time) / 8.45–10.30 hrs. (CET).
The webinar aims to provide participants with insights from experts across various fields, enabling them to apply the knowledge in practice and jointly advance Thai universities toward the goal of a sustainable zero-waste society.
